About
Artistic Approach
Raymon Nylund was a self-taught painter who first explored artistic expression through poetry before turning to painting 25 years earlier. Since childhood, he had been aware of his singular curiosity and intensity. He first glimpsed where that intensity could lead when he attained a Black Belt degree in martial arts after eight years of training, at the age of 19.
His earliest artistic influence during his poetic explorations was Khalil Gibran. Soon after he began drawing, however, he encountered the works of great painters such as Van Gogh, Picasso, and Kandinsky, and his perceptual abilities deepened. Over time, he came to believe that reality extended beyond what could be perceived through the five senses—something that could only be communicated through artistic expression.
He developed his style through an intense artistic practice that explored variations in the presentation of essential visual elements such as color and movement, while always striving for originality. By immersing himself deeply in each technique, he sought to fully develop his artistic ideas and emotional states within every approach. Yet these visual epiphanies often felt as though they emerged from something greater than himself alone.
Emotion in motion: feel. He painted from within the silence of the soul rather than from a single technique, following the human being’s inner voice—the breeze of heaven carried through passion.
After many years of painting and practice, aesthetic expression became for him a spiritual journey, an imitation of life itself. Through this journey, he repeatedly realized the importance of sharing visions and ideas capable of raising awareness toward a meaningful life—one that respected humanity, pure emotions and interactions, and the Earth that sustains us.
